Even if we don’t use base cosmetics, we always apply sunscreen. Just like how we are inevitably exposed to UV-induced aging without sunscreen, we live with cosmetics essential to our skin. And cosmetics help to moisturize and maintain the elasticity of our skin.
Is it good to use a lot of cosmetics that contain active ingredients good for my skin?
No! Our skin has a limited ability to absorb nutrients. Therefore, the amount and frequency of application that fits my skin type are more important. In particular, applying high-functional products such as retinol, collagen, and vitamin C will not unconditionally improve your skin.
While they are good for controlling dead skin cells and sebum, products with a high retinol content or vitamin C have the downside of thinning the skin. For sensitive skin, it is better to use functional products less often or in smaller areas than to use them every day in order to experience the effect.
Recommended skin type with high retinol content & vitamin C product
1) Acne skin (used on acne scars and pigmented areas)
2) Skin with large pores, blackheads, and whiteheads
3) Dry and uneven, aged skin
4) Oily areas such as the T zone
